AgroGuide – AI Assistant Empowering Farmers with Instant Agricultural Insights

We built a RAG powered AI assistant for AgroGuide that enables farmers to ask questions and receive clear, accurate answers in real time. The solution replaced manual browsing with concise, mobile friendly responses drawn from a trusted agricultural knowledge base. As a result, farmers access critical pest and treatment insights faster, improve decision making in the field, and engage more consistently with the platform.

Overview

Up-to-date and accurate information is everything nowadays. AgroGuide (AgroVodic.com) is utilized by over 60,000 farmers every month in Serbia and provides a comprehensive digital knowledge base on pests, plant diseases, weeds, and approved treatments. To bring usability and decision-making to a higher level, AgroGuide added a RAG-powered AI Assistant that enables users to ask the knowledge base questions in real-time and receive accurate, concise answers—at the exact time they are required.


Challenges

Before the AI Assistant, farmers using AgroGuide faced several friction points:

  • Fragmented Information Access – Users had to manually browse multiple sections to find pest details, identify symptoms, and determine appropriate treatments.
  • Slow Decision-Making – Gathering and cross-referencing information delayed time-sensitive field actions.
  • Incomplete Queries, Missed Results – Without guided AI interaction, users risked formulating poor searches and overlooking critical data.
